This Episode: Don’t Make This Huge Mistake With Social Media
In this episode of Real Retail TV, I’m going to talk to you about a huge mistake a lot of people make with their social media marketing. You spend a lot of time, energy, and money on building your social media communities and it is so important to turn those relationships into contact information.
If you have any clever ways that you’re turning those rented social media relationships into owned contact information, put them in the comments below.
This is so stupid but how do I get them to sign up for a club? It is the actual form I need. I also have an amazing way that I get people to give me their name and picture of their pets but not email. I also want to start a walking club and a hiking club but need a sign up form….
Hi Kimberly, thanks for your comment. Are you using an email service like Constant Content or Mail Chimp? Lots of the time they have forms you can use to capture information. If not, you can use Google Forms to make free forms to get people to sign up for different things.
Just wondering…are emails used as much as they’ve been used in the past? Are they generational? I have teenagers and find the younger generation do not use emailing much.
I also feel of late, people my own age (50’s) are not using/checking their emails as frequently either. They rely more on social media platforms to communicate…Facebook/Instagram for my age…Twitter and Snapchat for my teenagers. I have been collecting emails for the past 2.5 years of being in business but haven’t really flown with using them much. Sounds like I need to pursue this more fervently….
Thanks for what you all do!
Sincerely,
Cherina
100% YES! We get such a great response from our email blasts. They are the contacts most invested in our messaging, and it really works!
Cherina,
While email usage is not as prevalent with younger people it still is the single best way to market your business. Yes, pursue it more fervently!
Bob
Good point.
Getting emails takes work, but so worth the effort.
Hi Trish,
Yes, hard work, but worth the effort!
