This Episode: Beating Burnout – Part 1
This episode of Retail Retail TV is super important to watch now during the busy holiday shopping season. In it, we’ll talk about the little things that chip away at you making you feel burned out and what you can do about them.
Your action items, should you choose to accept it, are to be mindful about how you’re feeling and for the next five days, stay off social media and email when you leave your store so you can be fully present.
Comment below and tell me some of your favorite ways to beat burnout. I wonder if they’ll be the same ones I’ll share in next week’s episode!
Good stuff especially B-A-M. Another acronym we use is A-R-M. Acknowledge, Respond and Move On. In both instances, you (we, I) have a choice: Take it Personally and Let it Stew and Really Grind Ya. Or realize that this is a small part of dealing with the public in the retail realm and turn lemons into lemonade.
I ain’t sayin it’s easy or I’m a pro at it. Put Yourself in their shoes and make an educated ask: what would they like for you to do? Then act on it (Respond) and move on. And make em a friend for life!

Thanks Debbie!
Thanks for the reminder. The stress builds up each day which leads to unseen stress on the heart then one day the damage is seen. Then you are flat on your back for weeks or longer in recovery.
You’re welcome Gerald. I hope you are alright!
Very true! I have this with customers but staff also sometimes. lol
HA!
Thanks, Bob. I needed this advice , not about my business, but about a troubling exchange with a family member. I will try to “let it go “today
Yep. It’s not just business. Thanks for commenting Elaine.
